Week 5: Wise Men – In Wonder of God’s Fulfilled Promises

Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the east came to Jerusalem, saying, “Where is he who has been born king of the Jews? For we saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”  Matthew 2:1-2

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

 

1) Read Matthew 2:1-12.
2) How do you see the wise men respond with wonder at what God has done?
3) What about the story of the wise men can you relate to in your life today?
4) How can you look for opportunities to be awakened to the wonder of God’s fulfilled promises this week?
5) As we step into a new year, pray that God will deepen your wonder of who He is this year.

Week 4: Shepherds – In Wonder of God’s Good News

15 When the angels went away from them into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let us go over to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.” 16 And they went with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby lying in a manger.

20 And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, as it had been told them. Luke 2:15-16, 20

Week 2 – Mary: In Wonder of God Using Us

For behold, from now on all generations will call me blessed; 49 for he who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name. 50 And his mercy is for those who fear him from generation to generation. 51 He has shown strength with his arm; he has scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts; 52 he has brought down the mighty from their thrones and exalted those of humble estate; 53 he has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich he has sent away empty. 54 He has helped his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy, 55 as he spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to his offspring forever.” Luke 1:46-56
