Sanctuary Gives Back

By Events No Comments

Do you have any old prescription glasses laying around? Maybe your prescription has changed over the years, or you have had Lasik surgery? We need your old glasses!

On June 15th, our Bolivia Mission Trip team is collecting prescription glasses (readers and regular glasses of any prescription) to take to the rural, indigenous people of Bolivia, South America. They will work with Bolivian doctors Placido & Toni to administer medical care to the Ayore people.

A donation bin will be located in the front lobby on June 15th to accept your donations!

Ethan Young’s Birthday Celebration!

By Events No Comments

The Young Family would like to thank everyone at Sanctuary for all your prayers, encouragement, and support by inviting you to celebrate Ethan’s 5th birthday with us!

Join us on June 22nd following our 11:30 gathering, upstairs in the Preschool large-group room (Room 206). We’ll have birthday cake to share, but instead of gifts for Ethan, we would like to ask you to bring a small $8 to $10 gift to stock the “Treasure Box” at the Aflac Cancer Clinic. Ethan always loved picking out a small prize after his treatments, or even if he had a rough day. It always put a smile on his face! The Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorder Clinic is in need of trinkets for all age groups.

Here are a few ideas:

Lego’s, ninja go, or bay blades for the little boys. Princess stuff, art stuff, ear buds, or makeup bags for little girls. $10 Itunes gift cards for the teenagers, or anything you think would put a smile on a kids face!

Thank you for helping us give back to the people who gave so much to Young’s!

Read to Lead

By Events No Comments

This summer, Sanctuary is partnering with Hayes Elementary School to help launch a summer reading program called “Read to Lead”. We invite you to take part in this initiative that will allow students to exchange books on a weekly basis, while also providing them with lunch, story time, and a craft. This opportunity will allow us to continue deepening relationships in the community while engaging students in Biblical based stories.

Many hands are needed in this 6-week mission. We invite your families and small groups to take part in this mission through one of the following:

  • Packing lunches weekly (Sundays or Mondays)
  • Delivering and handing out lunches weekly (Wednesday mornings)
  • Volunteering on Wednesdays from 10:30-11:30 a.m. to help onsite at Hayes with book check out, coordinating craft time, or taking part in story telling

Click HERE to complete a form expressing your interest to serve.

Please contact Heather Canup with any questions.
