An [Un]Ordinary Day With Jesus
On Easter we begin a seven week series that examines the fifty days between Easter and Pentecost. We’ve titled this series an (Un)Ordinary Day with Jesus. After the resurrection the lives of the disciples were anything but normal. Their King had won. Jesus had conquered sin and death and had been resurrected. But the disciples weren’t sure what life should look like, or what to do or where to go. During the first forty days Jesus appeared to His disciples. During this time He comforted them, and taught them. He blessed them with His presence and His power. After forty days Jesus instructed His disciples about the coming gift of the Spirit and then He ascended to heaven. Ten days later the Spirit was given at Pentecost and everything that was normal changed again. The lives of the disciples were never the same. The same is true for us. Our normal lives have been transformed to something (un)ordinary. Our resurrected Jesus has called us to continue to follow Him and has filled us with His resurrection power. We now live anew, alive and will reign forever with our resurrected Lord.
