Today, as we sit in the silence of the Saturday between Good Friday and Easter Sunday, reflect on the works of the classic hymn “Nothing but the Blood of Jesus,” written by Robert Lowry in 1876. These words are true today for you and for me.

What can wash away my sin?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.
What can make me whole again?
Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Refrain:
O precious is the flow
that makes me white as snow;
no other fount I know;
nothing but the blood of Jesus.

For my pardon this I see:
nothing but the blood of Jesus.
For my cleansing this my plea:
nothing but the blood of Jesus. [Refrain]

Nothing can for sin atone:
nothing but the blood of Jesus.
Naught of good that I have done:
nothing but the blood of Jesus. [Refrain]

This is all my hope and peace:
nothing but the blood of Jesus.
This is all my righteousness:
nothing but the blood of Jesus. [Refrain]

Amen.

As mentioned yesterday, we invite you to stop by the front of the church today for a time of reflection on the stations of the cross. You can also view the stations online HERE.
