Current Outreach Opportunities

During these challenging times, we certainly desire to  be the church in our community. Let’s all look for ways to share Christ’s love with our neighbors, by serving those in need of help and by looking for opportunities to point others toward the Gospel of peace. You can find all current community outreach opportunities listed here. If you know of a need in the community that is not listed below, please contact to share.

Hayes Adopt-A-Teacher

Sanctuary would like to pray for and show our appreciation to the teachers & staff of Hayes Elementary School throughout the school year. We invite you to join us by adopting a teacher or staff member to encourage each month. We will provide suggestions such as sending a card, having lunch delivered, providing much needed supplies, etc.

Sign up to adopt a teacher HERE. Once signed up, you will receive a confirmation email containing the teacher’s/staff member’s name & contact information.

If you have any questions, please contact Denise Gallichio.

Calvary Children's Home Volunteer Opportunity

Cobb county schools are returning to school virtually.  This has posed problems for many families and Calvary Children’s home is no exception!  Calvary is home to 24 children that are either orphaned or need to live apart from their families. The house parents are in great need of support to ensure these children are able to be schooled each day.

Their greatest need is with their middle school students on Wednesdays from 10:00am-4:00pm, 5 boys and 4 girls.  Each day the boys will be in the library and the girls in their dining hall.  No teaching experience required!  All information is being taught to them by public school teachers virtually.  A house parent will also be present to assist with the middle school kids and answer volunteer questions.

Volunteers will be there to make sure the kids are staying on task and working, help with questions the students have (or get them someone that can help), help them log on to classes if needed (or get someone that can help them) and most importantly to encourage them! Feel free to sign up for multiple shifts!

Shifts are broken up into 3 hours shifts:

10:00am-1:05pm (students will be working independently on assignments and log on to their first class at 12:15pm)

1:00pm-4:05pm (students will be logged on to their classes)

***The kids have a break from 1:05pm-1:15pm so we can switch out volunteers without disturbing their lessons.

** Volunteers must be at least 17 years old
